We are hiring a Communications Manager!

Then you may be the new Communications Manager we need!

 

We are looking for:

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • A born communicator and true storyteller with a talent for digital
  • Impeccable English with excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • A strategic thinker who knows what makes decision-makers tick, especially in the EU
  • Confidence in managing websites, members’ areas and social media accounts
  • Experience of Adobe CS – in particular InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Real interest in policy issues
  • A creative mind that focuses on solutions and enjoys keeping up-to-date with the latest communication trends
  • A team player with good emotional intelligence who enjoys working in dynamic environment

And all of that combined in one friendly person to join our team of five in the Brussels-based Secretariat!

Our Communications Manager needs to give TIE a strong voice to support our team’s work, in a way that reflects the importance of toys in children’s lives. You will report directly to the Director General and will help to determine TIE’s external and internal long-term communications strategy. You will be responsible for making sure that our stakeholders hear our message loud and clear, and that the toy sector understands TIE’s role and supports our work. You will need a creative mind to develop communications projects that showcase the fun and magic of play on which the toy sector is built.

The policy developments that our team work on are diverse. We cover everything from product safety, chemicals and sustainability through to trade, digital services and cybersecurity. Our role is to make sure our sector’s voice is heard. Because toys are destined for children, they are some of the most highly restricted consumer goods in the EU. The issues we handle can be very technical and we need to respect the emotions that can arise in discussions about children, whilst making sure they don’t lead to unnecessary red tape for business. Our Communications Manager needs to be able to quickly get to the heart of an issue and make sure our positions are easily understandable to all and sensitive to stakeholders’ concerns.
