Together with six European business associations, TIE is calling for a future ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐ผ๐บ๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ย that creates the right conditions for companies to scale circular solutions across the EU Single Market.
To move further and faster, businesses need a regulatory framework that provides predictability, legal clarity and support for innovation, while keeping products affordable for consumers.
- removing barriers to circularity
- improving the effectiveness of Extended Producer Responsibility schemes
- harmonising reporting obligations across the EU
- strengthening collection and sorting infrastructure
- developing competitive markets for secondary raw materials
At the same time, the legislation should avoid blanket, one-size-fits-all requirements that may not reflect the realities of different product categories. Measures related to product design or recycled and bio-based content should remain evidence-based, proportionate and tailored to sector-specific needs.
Aย successful circular economy must be practical, innovation-driven and fully aligned with Europeโs competitiveness objectives.
