Awarding toy makers playing for positive change

We are excited to announce the launch of our ‘Play for Change Awards’ at the Nuremberg Toy Fair today. These new awards will recognise toy makers who are striving to positively impact children’s lives and futures in inspirational ways.

The awards will focus on how toy companies are responding to key environmental, societal and educational challenges within the three categories of Sustainability, Empowerment, and Future Skills. We strongly encourage companies with forward-thinking products or corporate initiatives to take part and are looking forward to receiving entries from toy makers of all sizes from across Europe.

Chairman of the TIE Board and MD EMEA at Mattel Sanjay Luthra has said “The Awards will champion the products and initiatives of forward-looking manufacturers throughout Europe and will highlight how toy companies – no matter what size – are behaving like leaders, thinking beyond the product itself and towards the impact their company has on the planet and kids’ futures.”

The Awards jury brings together judges with proven expertise in the three categories and will be chaired by John Baulch, publisher of Toy World Magazine, who sees the Awards as a future driver of industry innovation: “by rewarding companies for their efforts to help kids and to improve society, these awards will help raise the bar even higher across the toy industry”.

The submission period will open in March,  and companies can already register you interest in taking part on the awards website today.
