Joint statement supporting the digitalisation of EPR schemes and the set-up of a digital, EU-wide One-Stop Shop for EPR

Toys Industries of Europe (TIE), together with a coalition of European organisations, has signed a joint statement supporting the digitalisation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and the creation of a digital, EU-wide One-Stop Shop (OSS) for EPR. The initiative comes in the context of the European Commission’s upcoming Circular Economy Act and aims to address the fragmentation and administrative complexity currently affecting EPR systems across the EU.

The coalition believes that greater digitalisation can significantly simplify compliance obligations for companies operating across multiple Member States, while also improving coordination and enforcement for authorities and Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs). A digital OSS would provide a single entry point for producers to submit EPR-related information and enable seamless data exchange across the EU. The signatories are calling on the European Commission to place digitalisation at the centre of future EPR reforms and are committed to contributing practical recommendations for the development of a user-friendly and effective system.
