TIE is one of the 15 associations calling for a reconsideration of the latest version of the Green Claims Directive.
We regret that, at present, EU policymakers cannot agree on a workable, predictable and harmonised framework for the verification and communications of explicit environmental claims. We fear that complex and impractical rules, like those currently on the negotiating table, will discourage reputable companies from communicating their actions towards more sustainable practices and will prevent consumers from accessing trustworthy information on sustainability.
Just as we have been through the entire legislative process, we remain available to share our expertise with policymakers and contribute to a more implementable framework that supports both businesses and consumers.
