TIE, together with 46 associations, has cosigned a joint industry statement opposing Slovakia’s proposed Amendment to the Environmental Fund (EF). The amendment seeks to enable the Environmental Fund to operate as a Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) within the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system.

Independence of EPR schemes from government control is also essential to drive innovation and achieve large-scale recyclability, as stated under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
